SpeakerBlog Privacy Notice

1. Who we are
Great Marketing Works Ltd, trading as SpeakerBlog, is the data controller for personal data processed through SpeakerBlog.

Great Marketing Works Ltd also operates SpeakerProfile, StageReel, SpeakerShoutOuts, SpeakerPrice, Speaker.Marketing and SpeakerMarketing.org, and is the controller for those too. Section 6 explains what moves between them.
2. Who this notice is for
- Speakers who have a SpeakerBlog.
- People who read a speaker's blog.
- Anyone who contacts us.
3. What we collect, and why
Your account
We collect your name, email address, speaking topics, professional biography and blog settings such as tone and colours.
We use this to run your account, generate your content and publish your blog. Our lawful basis is performance of our contract with you under the Terms.
Documents you upload
You may upload books, transcripts, articles and talks to improve the content generated for you.
We extract the text, divide it into sections, and send those sections to OpenAI to create embeddings — mathematical representations that let us find relevant material when writing your posts. The sections and embeddings are stored in a knowledge base used only for your blog.
Your documents are not used to train any AI model and are not used to generate content for any other speaker.
If your documents contain other people's personal information, you are responsible for having the right to upload them. See clause 7.3 of the Terms.
Deleting a document removes it and its knowledge base entries.
Content generated for you
We store the blog posts generated for you, including drafts, published posts and edits.
Your published blog
Everything published to your blog is public. It can be read by anyone, indexed by search engines and read by AI systems. Once something is public we cannot control what a third party does with it, and we cannot remove copies they have already made.
Site measurement
We record which pages are visited on speakerblog.net and on individual blogs, using two first-party cookies, sp_vid and sp_session. This tells us how the service is used and where things go wrong.
This information is sent to SpeakerCRM, our own internal system, over a signed connection. It is not sent to Google, to any advertising network, or to any third-party analytics company.
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not track you across other websites. We do not sell your browsing behaviour.
Technical information
When you use the service we process your IP address, browser and device information in server logs, to keep the service secure and diagnose faults. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
Emails
We process the emails we send you, whether they were delivered, and any messages you send us.
Service emails about your account and your blog are sent under our contract with you. Marketing emails are sent only where permitted, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
If you ask us to stop
If you unsubscribe, ask not to be contacted, or ask us to erase your data, we keep a minimal record — normally your email address and the date. We keep this indefinitely so your request is honoured permanently.
4. Where your information comes from
Most of it comes directly from you, or from your SpeakerProfile if you have one.
5. Who processes information for us
These providers act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.

Some of these providers are based in the United States, so some information is processed outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on the UK's adequacy regulations for the United States, or on standard contractual protections approved for use under UK law.
6. Who else sees your information
- Anyone, for whatever is published on your blog — including search engines and AI systems.
- Our providers, listed in section 5, acting on our instructions.
- Our other tools, as described below, which are run by the same company.
Beyond that, nobody. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
We will disclose personal data where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
How information moves between our tools
Great Marketing Works Ltd runs seven connected tools plus an internal system called SpeakerCRM. We are the controller for all of them, so information moving between them stays with the same company rather than going to a third party.
What moves. Your identity and account information — name, email address, speaking topics and which tools you are set up on — is sent to SpeakerCRM, our internal record of who is a member. It is never sold and is not a product anyone else can buy. Site measurement described in section 3 also goes there.
Your SpeakerProfile information may be used to set up your blog, so you do not have to enter it twice.
What does not move. Your uploaded documents and your knowledge base stay in SpeakerBlog. They are not sent to SpeakerCRM or to any other tool.
7. How long we keep things

If your membership ends, your blog is made private rather than deleted immediately. The Terms explain the timetable.
Deleted information may remain in routine backups until those backups expire, normally within 30 days.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your data;
- restrict how we use it, or object to us using it;
- send you your data in a portable format, including exporting all your blog posts; and
- stop sending you marketing.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Email dan@greatmarketingworks.co.uk. We will respond within one month. If we need longer, or cannot do what you have asked, we will tell you why.
9. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data
You have two separate rights here, and you can use either or both. You do not have to come to us first.
Complain to us. Email dan@greatmarketingworks.co.uk with "Data protection complaint" in the subject line. We will acknowledge it within 30 days and tell you what we are doing about it. This is your right under section 164A of the Data Protection Act 2018.
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. This is your right under section 165 of the Data Protection Act 2018.

10. Automated content generation
SpeakerBlog generates blog content automatically using artificial intelligence, and publishes it on a daily schedule once you have accepted the Terms.
This is content generation, not a decision about you. We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone that have legal or similarly significant effects.
You can review, edit, delete or pause anything at any time, and you remain responsible for what appears under your name.
11. Security
We protect personal data using encrypted connections, access controls and authenticated hosting. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and we will tell you promptly if something goes wrong that affects you.
12. Children
SpeakerBlog is for professional speakers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you believe we hold information about a child, tell us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when what we do changes. Each version carries a number and an effective date. Where a change is significant, we will tell you directly.
